New York, New York

From the Lower East Side where we enjoyed 180 degree views from our all glass Hotel on Rivington room, up to Manhattan College in the Bronx, where a dear artist friend opened her show and gave a talk, New York was in full bloom. In between the miles of walking - with meals in different neighbourhoods each night, we managed to get to MOMA where it was the outdoor courtyard that captured our interest.
Alas, Mother Nature has other ideas in store for us this week - at least in this part of Canada. Let's just say there won't be any blue skies or blossoms for at least another 8 days or so. C'est la vie my lovelies.

Two Saints Worth

It seems trite to share images from a recent adventure to NYC, when elsewhere in the world hundreds of thousands gathered to witness history as two former popes received sainthood status in the Vatican. Pope Francis canonized both John XXIII and John Paul II. A blessed day to be sure!

E. Bunny

This week has brought us Passover,  the Buddhist New Year, and soon Good Friday and Easter. In other news, there has been freezing rain, snow, and unseasonably cold temperatures - further testament to what I have heard is an erratic weather pattern that has become the new pattern. This, and so many other events are things over which we have absolutely no control. With a spirit of embracing that which we cannot change, may we all be present and accounted for in whatever gatherings or events take place over the next few days. When I return, there will be inspirations from Manhattan, Soho and Brooklyn to share. Let's see if a springtime visit to NYC can encourage my inner artist to buckle down and do something creative.  Namaste dears.

Silent Sunday

Dears,
It was Albert Einstein who said, "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow." Though it has been said by many others, and in many other ways, perhaps one of our most complicated sages said it best. If all we do is remind ourselves from time to time to be present, and to be of good intention, there is the hope that we can move towards our goals in a spirit of goodwill and gratitude - two of the most transformative states of mind we can cultivate. Namaste dears.

Blonde Ambition

What do we do when spring showers get us down?
Go to the mall of course! It gets better when your mall buddies are none other than Sam and Caillianne
Beckerman - fashionista twins who can brighten the dullest of days, and incite smiles wherever they go. With my creative beauty, Danielle in the middle of the Beckie sandwich, and me as chauffeur and photographer, we almost forgot there's still  some snowy reminders and chilly days in our midst. But this too shall pass. Here's to the promise of spring my lovelies.

Bye Bye Beach Life

So long to the sunny south west Florida coast, and hello urban life. The city of Toronto is starting to sizzle with spring events. While the One of a Kind Spring show wrapped up last weekend, the Total Health Show is about to launch at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre April 4 - 6.

As for these cool mirrored beach images, many thanks to my creative daughter, Danielle. She went off to the Dollar Store with an idea in her head, and here you have the fruits of her labour. The best were the shots of people frolicking in the Gulf of Mexico, but the subjects were shy to share their bathing suit bods with the universe. I get that!

May the longer days and receding snow banks bring joy, hope and creative inspiration to all. Thanks for visiting after my long absence dears.
