Miami's Indie Art Scene

About 15 minutes from South Beach, and only 10 minutes from the rest of the Design District in Miami, lies the Wynwood Arts District. While the Wynwood Wall of amazing street art defines this region, it is fast becoming the 'it' spot for creatives and courageous entrepreneurs alike. Once a rough neighbourhood of warehouses and low slung shabby buildings, the gentrification of the area is taking a slow and organic turn towards the refurbished, instead of the rebuilt. Gone is the cheese of South Beach wannabe's, and schlocky tourist art. This is where one goes to feel the real energy of an area in transition - the open minds and spirits of each and every shopkeeper are more than enough reward for your time spent drifting in and out of galleries, shops and the Panther Coffee House.
