Art Class Wednesdays

According to folklore and native American symbolism, crows and ravens are known to be our spirit guides. They are considered to possess and influence intuition and creativity. This recent sketch was done in class at the Toronto School of Art. The ground is a gesso board with acrylic medium for pastels as the first layer. The sketch was done with a 4B graphite pencil. It was set with a non-toxic fixative by Degas - called Spectra Fix. If you haven't tried this one, it's a keeper. You can throw out your toxic aerosols, and seal the deal with Spectra Fix. I am equally excited about creating a 'toothy' surface for pastels and conte with yet another acrylic medium. There are so many out there, and you can paint and draw on most of them. More on that later.
Cheers dears.

Thanks so much taking time to stop by. Your comments are always appreciated. Namaste.
