Tuesday's Thai Buddha

This beautiful weathered Buddha adorns one of the oldest temples (wats) - Chedi Luang. It is just yards away from the River Khong and is surrounded by brick ruins that date back to 1292 AD. My friend George mentioned a theravedic influence when he referred to this Lanna style Buddha. Maybe these references are not lost on those who have actually visited some of these wonderful sights. As for me, I'm a self confessed Buddha-holic. I adore these iconic and sacred statues, and I'm passionate about what they represent.
Namaste friends.

  1. No way, are you telling me that this Buddha existed almost a thousand years ago? Just wow! I want to visit this temple personally. Can you give us a map how to get here?
