Sacred Circle Bird Series

A sacred geometric circle appears in each of the four 6x8" pieces on acid free mat board. This is The Bird of Energy as illustrated by the geometric symbol. We come from energy, and in scientific terms,
everything is energy.....even thought.              Namaste

THE ASPEN FOOD AND WINE CLASSIC

Meet my dearest friend and soulmate, Nancy Spears, and her buddy and chef extraordinaire, Marcus
Samuelsson.  If you follow the restaurant scene in New York, and want to learn more about one of the most decorated young chefs in the world, check out Aquavit.com and see why Marcus has won awards from Best Chef: New York City to consecutive four star ratings in Forbes Annual best Eateries Issue.

Nancy's latest venture can best be experienced by going to www.Genconnect.com. As the author of Buddha 9 to 5, mother to 11 year old twins, and beautiful friend, we enjoyed her special hospitality and
exquisite home during our recent stay in Aspen.  Merci and namaste, Nancy.

Labour of Love

If I knew what was so compelling about heave-hoeing heavy rocks from one spot to another, and attempting to fit and sit them in such a way so as to secure their position through possible avalanches, I would surely share it with you now. The fact that the brain might be robbed of all the oxygen it needs above 8,000  feet  could play a small role in this curious yet satisfying ritual I began some four years ago.

Think of every cliche you've heard about the power and mystique of nature and mountains, and you may have your answer. There's a truth and connection that pulls me up the hills like a magnet. If you can't get to the Rockie Mountains, you may be surprised to find your zen moment atop Fort Henry Hill in Kingston, Ontario or for that matter, any mole hill near you.

EARTHQUAKES, TORNADOS, G20.....oh my!

From Colorado to Canada

Wood smoked night air to the sultry city summer

Only to be eclipsed by an earthquake, a tornado and the G20 Summit violence!

Join me tomorrow when I go to my happy place up Aspen mountain and bring you my new improved
INUKSHOOK photos.

Namaste friends.

INUKSHUK

It's time for our annual visit to Aspen Colorado. The mountains are calling. Like a magnet, I am drawn up the face of Aspen mountain each morning to tend my humble Inukshuk offering. I started gathering rough stones a few years ago with the intention of replicating the Inuit style monuments which traditionally were used for communication and survival. They translate literally to mean "someone was here" or "you are on the right path." They can also mark a place of respect or memorial for a beloved.
With the help of my daughter Danielle's boyfriend, Mahmood, the inukshuk we built in  2008 actually  survived into mid-summer 2009. My first mission upon arrival will be scoot up the mountain in search of the remains of last year's propped up model. I'm not holding my breath as I look at this photo.

Unless I figure out how to do mobile postings from my phone, I will be back the last week of June. By the first week of July, my Etsy store will be stocked with some of what you have seen thus far.

In the Pink

In addition to the pale pink glass and swarovski crystal earrings, there is a matching 'chi charm' that either comes on a sterling chain or by itself to be added to an existing necklace or bracelet.
CHI is the word that translates as 'energy of life'. Depending on the eastern discipline, meanings can vary, but I always include the energetic charge of a genuine stone as a prompt to think about the healing.
In this piece, the pink dyed jade is good for emotional grounding and confidence building. It brings balance, courage, wisdom and compassion, and supports several physical ailments including PMS and high blood pressure.  Be well today and always. Namaste.

enso

In Zen tradition, the enso or circular symbol represents enlightenment and the interconnectedness of all life. The shape is created with a single brush stroke in india ink. For a more in-depth look, check out
www.brushmind.net .  This small piece is destined for an inspiration kit, and features heavy water-colour paper, washi tape and a vintage photo from my collection.   Namaste.

Tiger's Eye

Tiger's eye is a grounding, calming stone that supports healing, intuitive abilities and helps us to cultivate courage. All findings are sterling silver and the extra beads are swarovski crystals. They are the perfect complement to  an outfit of chocolate brown and white or cream.  All earrings cost $20.  Enjoy the day!

Tag Lady

Tag lady is a beautiful stamp borrowed from my pal,
Colette Copeland. And I thought I had an impressive collection.

During a recent get-together, I got to play with some of Colette's Catherine Moore rubber stamps - among others. Yes, I admit
to feeling like a kid in a candy store. And yes, I went online
as soon as I got home to see what I could add to my own collection. Check out www.StampDiva.com.

Namaste.

Sophia Loren

Sophia Loren once said, "There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, and the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age."

Artplay

Artplay is what happens when stamp and paper-obsessed art buddies get together for a show and tell.

You know who you are... you run to your mailbox in anticipation of any one of the many Stampington publications.  You've seen this adorable bird stamp and the rest of Colette's collection in Somerset Studio, and your incurable need for art and craft supplies takes over each and every room of your home!

Welcome to my world!     namaste.

The Earrings of Summer 2010

A lifelong obsession with beads and baubles has resulted in a new product soon to be carried in  the
Zendoll Workshop. Due to my incurable practicality, most pieces are light weight, colourful, and created with sterling silver findings,  genuine gemstones and swarovski crystals. These are yellow peacock glass beads with silver crystals to match the mirrored effect of the glazed bead. Most pairs of earrings will sell for $20. There are many more where these came from! Happy Summer 2010!
